SRC Student Nominated for Apprentice Award
Southern Regional College student Aine Magee was recently nominated for the Most Promising First Year award at the Apprentice of the Year Awards Ceremony, held in Belfast.
Aine, from Mayobridge, is studying for her Level 3 Diploma in Hairdressing at Southern Regional College in Newry. Aine's employer is Thee Salon in Sugar Island, Newry. Her employer, Paula Dodds, comments
Aine started working in Thee Salon in September 2010 as a work experience student and from the beginning I knew that Aine was different. Although she was quiet in nature, she was never afraid of hard work or pushing herself to learn new techniques and skills. Aine has a lovely manner and attitude which makes working with her such a joy. She shows commitment and enthusiasm to all the team here in Thee Salon.
Aine has also won second place in the L'Oreal UK Student of the year in 'Up Styles'. Angela Loughran, SRC Course Coordinator, commented on Aine's ability in the classroom
Since Aine started studying for her hairdressing qualifications she has been a diligent, dedicated and determined student who always sets high standards for herself. Her attention to detail in her creative work makes her stand out among her peers.
