The first meeting of SRC's new Creative Industries Development Forum took place recently. The Forum was attended by representatives from the creative industry and provided an opportunity to discuss training requirements within the industry. The forum gave employers / creative practitioners an insight into the range of support programmes available through the Business Support Centre. The Head and Deputy Head of School for Creative Studies attended the forum to discuss the content of SRC Creative courses and to determine if students were leaving with the appropriate skills set.
The objectives of the Development Forum is to:
- Help Identify relevant skills needs as a creative practitioner and/or business owner
- Develop training programmes which can add value to your business
- Develop proposals to deal with identified local skills shortages
- Develop a network of creative practitioners throughout the Southern Region of Northern Ireland.
The Creative Industries Development Forum is one of 9 industry forums within the Southern Region of Northern Ireland.
