Southern Regional College Students Awarded at Further Education Awards Ceremony

picture009_90.jpgAlmost 150 students from Southern Regional College, Armagh Campus, were awarded at the Further Education Awards Ceremony hosted at the Armagh City Hotel on Monday 6 September.

Mr Brian Doran, Chief Executive of SRC, welcomed students and guests from some of the 134 full time and 432 part time courses available at the award winning College.

Sister Michele O’Leary Bursary

michele90.jpgSRC student Eamon Keenan has been awarded the Sister Michele O'Leary Bursary for 2010.

Eamon is a student on the Higher National Diploma in Business Studies at the Southern Regional College.

Sister Michele O'Leary touched the hearts of many through her work with your people both in Ireland and her native Pittsburgh where she was President of the Ireland Institute of Pittsburgh. Sr Michele was also mentor and friend to all of the Rooney Fellowship recipients during their time in Pittsburgh. Read more...  

Brownlow Celebrates Learning in Style

img_40367small_90.jpgPupils from across the Brownlow area recently relished the opportunity to celebrate their learning at an activity day - ‘Brownlow Celebrating Learning' - hosted at Craigavon Watersports Centre on Monday 21st June.

The key theme for the day was to mark the significance of education and learning as well as promoting the idea that not all learning is academic and that gaining knowledge can be fun and exciting.

PRINCES TRUST TEAM REVAMP LISANALLY DAY CARE CENTRE

img_2146_90.jpgThe latest Prince's Trust team in Armagh have been working with Lisanally Day Care Centre, in an operation which has seen the once over grown gardens of the centre restored to their natural beauty.

 

The small team of six participants undertook the project as part of the Community engagement aspect of the programme and saw them clear, weed, plant and paint the gardens for the benefit of those who use the Day Care Centre on a regular basis. Read more...
