What is enterprise?

There has been much debate about the term enterprise over the last number of years. In its simplest form, enterprise is the ability to turn an idea into a successful business. However enterprise is not just about setting up a business. It is about having the skills and competencies to succeed in a highly competitive and often challenging environment.

Enterprise focuses on developing skills, attitudes and knowledge in three areas:

•  Enterprise capability – innovation, creativity, risk management, risk taking, a ‘can-do' attitude and a drive to make things happen
•  Financial literacy – the ability to manage one's own finances and to become questioning and informed consumers of financial services
•  Business and economic understanding – the ability to understand the business context

How is it being delivered?
