DURATION: 2 Years
This course is designed for students interested in a career in Engineering. The course is a practical course, giving students the practical skills need to function in a fast move, multiskilled engineering industry
The students will get the opportunity to gain skills in Fabrication and Welding, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Maintenance and Electrical maintenance in year 1 with progression to a specialist pathway in year 2
The students will be completing units from City & Guilds 2850 Level 2 Diploma in Engineering and the Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Performing Engineering Operations
The core Units are assessed through on line multiple choice assessment. The remaining units are assessed through short answer questions and practical assessment. Apprentices will be required to complete a portfolio recording their practical skills.
The students must have achieved 5 GCSE’s A* - G including Maths and English
Successful students will be able to progress to Level 3 Diploma in Welding, Fabrication, Maintenance installation and commissioning, or Manufacturing Engineering
