Building For Your Future
Transforming Education in the Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon Areas
Southern Regional College is working hard to build a strong educational future and focus across Armagh and Down, with three new landmark campuses planned for Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon.
These plans are based on an immediate and long term need to support educational and skill requirements and to support local and regional economic development and success for generations. Working with the Department for the Economy to deliver an unprecedented capital investment of £95million across these areas, these exciting projects will be realised over the next four years.
The construction of the new £35m campus at Lonsdale Road in Armagh has commenced and is due for completion in 2020.
Felix O’Hare & Company is the appointed principal contractor which will see the creation of 200 jobs and 25 apprenticeship opportunities within the construction phase of the project.
The new 4500m2 campus at Banbridge will cost up to £15m to complete. O’Hare and McGovern Ltd. has been the appointed principal contractor and construction has already commenced. This new campus is on track to open in 2020 also.
In Craigavon, we are preparing to deliver a new £45 million landmark facility with the recent award of full planning consent to invest in developing a new state-of-the-art further and higher education campus. The new campus will support hundreds of new jobs during construction, create more than 350 new local apprenticeship opportunities annually and underpin the college’s status as a major employer in the area.
