COLLEGE NOTICE (Updated 12/04/21)

Resumption of delivery on College campuses continues to be limited to areas where skills training and assessment needs to take place on site. Unlike schools, Colleges of Further Education have not resumed delivery in full. The College is operating in line with the NI Executive’s Roadmap to Recovery and must wait on the Executive’s decision to trigger the next stage on the roadmap before resuming delivery.

The NI Executive is scheduled to review this later this week and should the decision be taken to trigger Stage 2 of the Roadmap to Recovery, the College will inform students accordingly. Until this takes place, students should continue to follow the direction provided by their course tutors and continue to monitor all communications via email, website and social media.

Learning Resource Centres are open for students unable to access online lessons from home. Student services and limited canteen facilities are also available. Student queries should be directed to Course Co-ordinators. General queries should be emailed to

Building For Your Future

Transforming Education in the Armagh, Banbridge, Craigavon and Newry Areas

Southern Regional College is working hard to build a strong educational future and focus across Armagh and Down, with the opening of two new landmark campuses in Banbridge and Armagh and one planned for Craigavon.

These plans and developments are based on an immediate and long term need to support educational and skill requirements and to support local and regional economic development and success for generations. Working with the Department for the Economy to deliver an unprecedented capital investment of £100million across these areas, these exciting projects have started to be realised.

The construction of the new £35m campus at Lonsdale Road in Armagh has been completed and opened to students in September 2020.

Felix O’Hare & Company was the appointed principal contractor which saw the creation of 200 jobs and 25 apprenticeship opportunities within the construction phase of the project.

The new 4,500 sq.m. campus at Banbridge will cost up to £15m to complete. O’Hare and McGovern Ltd. was the appointed principal contractor and the Campus opened its doors in September 2020 to welcome its first cohort of students.

In Craigavon, we are preparing to deliver a new £45 million landmark facility with the award of full planning consent in January 2019 to invest in developing a new state-of-the-art further and higher education campus. The new campus will support hundreds of new jobs during construction, create more than 350 new local apprenticeship opportunities annually and underpin the college’s status as a major employer in the area.

In Newry, we will be expanding our existing Newry East Campus located on Patrick Street through the acquisition of the old Newry Sports Centre. This paves the way for the creation of a new Student Innovation Centre for those students studying both further and higher education courses. This project will also see the rationalisation of the College’s Newry estate with this extension to their Patrick Street provision accommodation at their Model campus.
