New Banbridge Campus - Opening 2020
The new campus at Banbridge, due for completion in mid 2020, is currently being constructed on the existing Castlewellan Road site. The building features approximately 4500m2 of outstanding new learning facilities, including a dedicated Learning Resource Centre and an innovation hub. The new campus is set to become a specialist hub for digital media and design, promoting learning excellence and skills development with the latest technology and educational resources, offering a wide range of full time and part time courses through to degree level.
The Banbridge campus will also feature a design centre where students can experience a real working environment, taking on industrial design briefs and projects which reflect best practice
The plan to build a brand new campus on the Castlewellan Road was granted full planning permission in 2017 and will cost up to £15 million to complete. In March 2018, the College received formal notification of the new build’s funding arrangements from the Department for the Economy ensuring that the new multi-million pounds educational campus remains on track for completion in 2020.
The principal contractor for this new state-of-the-art further and higher education campus is O’Hare & McGovern Limited was appointed in October 2018, creating 150 jobs on site. During the construction phase, the existing curriculum will remain in the existing building as the new campus is being developed elsewhere on the site.
