Southern Regional College’s First Year Foundation Degree in International Hospitality & Tourism Management and International Travel & Tourism Management students are holding an event on Friday 27th April 2018 which aims to promote The Scenic Carlingford Ferry as well as the wider local tourism product.
The organizing of this event from inception to completion is part of the students’ assessment. This event will embrace Newry, Mourne & Down District Council’s Tourism Strategy, by delivering an EPIC trail which celebrates the elements of the area – mountains, myths and maritime.
The ‘North to South EPIC Journey’ will start and end in Newry taking in Warrenpoint, Rostrevor, Greencastle, Carlingford Lough via the Scenic Carlingford Ferry, Greenore, Carlingford, Omeath and back to Newry. The students will deliver an on-board commentary which will highlight some of the area’s leading local tourism businesses. The trail will also incorporate a treasure hunt in Kilbroney Park around The Narnia Trail. This pilot trail will be attended by Louise Burns, Sales & Marketing Executive with The Scenic Carlingford Ferry as well as SRC Year 2 Foundation Degree in International Hospitality & Tourism Management and International Travel & Tourism Management students and lecturers.
