COLLEGE NOTICE (Updated 12/04/21)

Resumption of delivery on College campuses continues to be limited to areas where skills training and assessment needs to take place on site. Unlike schools, Colleges of Further Education have not resumed delivery in full. The College is operating in line with the NI Executive’s Roadmap to Recovery and must wait on the Executive’s decision to trigger the next stage on the roadmap before resuming delivery.

The NI Executive is scheduled to review this later this week and should the decision be taken to trigger Stage 2 of the Roadmap to Recovery, the College will inform students accordingly. Until this takes place, students should continue to follow the direction provided by their course tutors and continue to monitor all communications via email, website and social media.

STUDENT SUPPORT

Learning Resource Centres are open for students unable to access online lessons from home. Student services and limited canteen facilities are also available. Student queries should be directed to Course Co-ordinators. General queries should be emailed to info@src.ac.uk

Learning Resource Centres

The College offers extensive study and learning facilities across five main campuses: Armagh, Banbridge, Lurgan, Newry and Portadown. Learning resources include books, journals and a wide range of electronic multimedia materials.

The LRCs have student focused resources with nearly 40,000 books and a large portfolio of ebooks and ejournals to meet the needs of the wide variety of courses offered at SRC. There is network access to more than a dozen online databases which are also accessible from home. LRCs offer printing and copying facilities and a variety of accommodation.

The LRCs provide:

  • Access to Moodle - your virtual learning environment
  • Students have a SRC email account
  • SRC Facebook page
  • Wi-fi in LRCs or common rooms
  • Laptops and computers available
  • More blended learning courses which combine online learning with tutorial support
  • Access to PC and Applemac formats in LRCs
  • Learning support resources are available for students with a learning disability or difficulty
