Building For Your Future
Transforming Education in the Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon Areas
Southern Regional College is working hard to build a strong educational future and focus across Armagh and Down, with the opening of two new landmark campuses in Banbridge and Armagh and one planned for Craigavon.
These plans and developments are based on an immediate and long term need to support educational and skill requirements and to support local and regional economic development and success for generations. Working with the Department for the Economy to deliver an unprecedented capital investment of £100million across these areas, these exciting projects have started to be realised.
The construction of the new £35m campus at Lonsdale Road in Armagh has been completed and opened to students in September 2020.
Felix O’Hare & Company was the appointed principal contractor which saw the creation of 200 jobs and 25 apprenticeship opportunities within the construction phase of the project.
The new 4,500 sq.m. campus at Banbridge will cost up to £15m to complete. O’Hare and McGovern Ltd. was the appointed principal contractor and the Campus opened its doors in September 2020 to welcome its first cohort of students.
In Craigavon, we are preparing to deliver a new £45 million landmark facility with the award of full planning consent in January 2019 to invest in developing a new state-of-the-art further and higher education campus. The new campus will support hundreds of new jobs during construction, create more than 350 new local apprenticeship opportunities annually and underpin the college’s status as a major employer in the area.
