Emer

Emer Maguire is a musical comedy success story, an international award winning science communicator, a four time TEDx speaker, and a double Irish Radio Award winning BBC presenter. Her debut musical comedy show ‘Emer Maguire: Hilarious Humans’ sold out its entire run at Edinburgh Fringe with unprecedented demand. Emer has performed to sold out audiences in venues across Northern Ireland, giving stellar performances in the likes of The Ulster Hall, the Waterfront Hall, and The Grand Opera House. Emer is Northern Ireland’s brightest comedy star.

Emer uses her unique style and sense of humour to communicate the wonders of science to the general public. It all began when Emer won science communication competition FameLab UK back in 2015. Fast forward to 2017, and Emer was named the winner of International Science Stars in Asia. With topics including from “Why do we fall in love?” and “Why do we Kiss?”, Emer inspires audiences to find science as captivating as she does.

Emer spreads her love for science and tech by presenting her BBC radio show, “Science and Stuff with Emer Maguire”. Emer won two Irish Music Radio Awards in October 2018 for Best Newcomer Presenter and Specialist Speech Broadcaster for her BBC science radio show, “Science and Stuff with Emer Maguire.”
