Skill Up
The Skill Up programme allows participants to avail of free courses to enhance their skillset or reskill in a new area. Southern Regional College is delighted to once again offer a range of Skill Up programmes which aim to support learners to improve their skills to support local industry.
From September 2025, we will offer Skill Up courses in the following areas:
- Advanced Manufacturing
- Childcare
- Health and Social Care
- Hospitality and Tourism
- Green Skills
- Leadership and Management
- Software and Digital
Eligibility for Skill Up courses
Applicants must be 18 years of age on or before the course start date.
Applicants must be eligible to work in Northern Ireland.
Applicants must be ‘settled’ in Northern Ireland and have been ordinarily resident in the UK for at least three years, or are a person who has indefinite leave to enter or remain in the UK.
Applicants must meet the academic eligibility criteria for each course applied to.
Documentation confirming eligibility of the above criteria will be requested prior to securing a place on the course.
Candidates are permitted to complete a maximum of two free courses at a time and must be available to attend class during published class times.
Places on Skill Up courses are limited and course dates are subject to change. Minimum numbers will be required for a course to run.
