Games, Animation and VFX Skills Level 3 Extended Diploma students welcomed Peadar McMahon from Mojopin Studios to Portadown campus this week! Mojopin Studios is a local independent game development company and currently working on an All Star Gaelic Football game.
Peader provided students with in-depth knowledge of the games industry in Northern Ireland and the importance of hard work, determination and networking within the industry. It allowed students to ask important questions on progression routes, skillset required and the significance of having a good digital portfolio showcasing their skillset that they have developed within SRC.
Students had the opportunity to see assets created for the game and the different iterations it has been through. Peader also spoke about the challenges of working as an indie developer.
The local gaming industry is growing and we look forward to seeing the exciting things to come for Mojopin Studios and the opportunities our students will have in the future.
