Nine candidates completed a 4-week intensive course to prepare them for the hospitality industry.

Candidates were able to gain industry-relevant qualifications, practical food preparation skills and take a step closer to a career as a chef.

Local employers very kindly opened their doors to take placements and a number of offers of employment have been made. These included the Canal Court Hotel & Spa, Norbrook Laboratories, Kilmorey Care. Killeavy Castle Estate, SRC and Camocha.

Candidates prepared a chosen dish for family and friends to celebrate their achievements. They were also presented with certificates and a copy of a bespoke Cook Book including recipes followed through the programme and candidate recipes for celebration event.

We wish all participants the very best in their next steps in their careers. This Chef Bootcamp programme was funded by NMDDC Labour Market Partnership and recruited through the Jobs & Benefits Office, Newry.
