Overview

This unit sets out advanced skills that enable the creation of sophisticated reports, execution of intricate mathematical and statistical computations, and enhancement of productivity through the utilisation of a spreadsheet application. It will enhance participants' proficiency in using Excel for complex data analysis, reporting, and automation tasks, making it ideal for professionals in various fields who need to leverage Excel’s advanced features.

It is preferable that students have attained basic ICDL.

Modules include:

Apply advanced formatting options such as conditional formatting and customised number formatting and handle worksheets
Use functions such as those associated with logical, statistical, financial and mathematical operations
Create charts and apply advanced chart formatting
Work with tables and lists to analyse, filter and sort data. Create and use scenarios
Validate and audit spreadsheet data
Enhance productivity by working with named cell ranges and macros
Use linking, embedding and importing features to integrate data
Compare and merge spreadsheets
Apply spreadsheet security features

Assessment will be through an end of course exam.

Students may wish to progress to other ICDL advanced modules.
