Overview
The OCN NI Level 2 Award in Introduction to Mindfulness in Children and Young People has been designed to provide the practitioner with the skills and knowledge to help with stress reduction in children exhibiting anxiety, through the use of mindfulness techniques.
The qualification is targeted at learners/practitioners who wish to or currently work with children who exhibit anxiety and wish to learn stress reduction techniques. Throughout this course, students will explore advanced concepts related to mindfulness and its benefits for children and young people. They will learn how to effectively teach and facilitate mindfulness practices to promote emotional well-being, resilience, and focus in this specific age group.
The curriculum encompasses a comprehensive range of topics. Participants will study the neurological and psychological aspects of mindfulness, gaining insights into how it positively impacts the developing minds of children and young individuals. They will explore different mindfulness techniques, including breath awareness, sensory exercises, and guided meditations, adapted to suit the needs and interests of this specific audience
