Exciting new apprenticeship programme - for employed childcare practitioners in private early years settings.

The Children's Care, Learning and Development (CCLD) Level 3 Diploma Apprenticeship is a one year comprehensive full time qualification designed for individuals who are passionate about working with children and aspire to pursue a rewarding career working with children up to the age of 5 years 11 months. It is suitable for those who work in an early years setting and wish to progress to work at an unsupervised level.

This apprenticeship offers a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical skills development, confirms competence and is approved as a required qualification for all new early years practitioners for registration and regulatory requirements in Northern Ireland.

This qualification aims to:

  • Focus on the study of children’s care, learning and development in Northern Ireland through the completion of CACHE Level 3 CCLD (Northern Ireland) Diploma
  • Provide opportunities to acquire a number of practical and technical skills in the completion of a minimum of 600 hours work based learning
  • Improve employability with incorporation of Essential Skills Literacy, Numeracy and ICT

To successfully complete the apprenticeship, applicants must achieve the following Essential Skills qualifications as part of the apprenticeship or already hold a recognised equivalent:

  • Application of Number at Level 2
  • Communication at Level 2
  • Information and Communication Technology at Level 2

However, any qualifications you already have are assessed against the framework requirements and may result in an exemption from the above.
