Southern Regional College’s Music Department were delighted to welcome John Corr and Kim Kelleher-Garcia from Global Motion on Thursday 13th November 2025 for an exclusive industry presentation to Creative Music and Audio Production Level 5 Foundation Degree students.
Global Motion, renowned worldwide for their expertise in transporting large-scale professional music tours offered students an extraordinary behind-the-scenes look at the logistics that keep global touring running smoothly. Their current roster includes some of the biggest names in contemporary music, including Ed Sheeran, Coldplay, and Kendrick Lamar.
During the session, John and Kim detailed the intricate processes involved in coordinating international tour freight, covering everything from aircraft loading and customs regulations to tight turnaround schedules, plus the teamwork required to keep high-profile tours on the move. Students gained a clear understanding of the precision, planning, and problem-solving essential to the touring industry.
This visit provided an invaluable insight into a side of the music business rarely visible to the public, revealing the complex global operations undertaken enabling artists to perform around the world. The session also opened the door to discussions around career pathways in tour operations, logistics, and live event support.
