Three staff from the Quality & Pedagogy Unit and Project Based Learning (PBL) attended a best practice/ job shadowing visit to the Laeringshuset School in Denmark.

This was an excellent opportunity to visit a school within the municipality and see the impact of the investment in PBL in Denmark.

Advertised as a PBL school and designed in such a way to support its implementation, SRC staff were able to speak to practitioners, tour the building and ask questions about their experiences with PBL.

There are similarities between learning spaces and it was useful to see how the Danish experience similar challenges. The College is looking at PBL spaces within the new builds and this visit was a great insight into good practice further afield.

This project was fully funded by the Erasmus+ Programme and organised by the College’s International Affairs Team. For further information, please contact the External Funding and International Affairs Team at SRC internationalaffairs@src.ac.uk or read more about International Affairs at SRC.

Observing best practice in other countries is vital. The opportunity to consider the same problem from a different view and learn from solutions others have created is amazing. This trip has given me great personal clarity that a lot of what we have implemented is great practice and that we are continuing to forge a path to greater success in our area of interest.
