Overview

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming industries around the world, from healthcare and finance to manufacturing, education and digital services. This course provides learners with a practical introduction to Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, exploring how intelligent systems are developed and applied to solve real-world problems.

Learners will develop an understanding of key AI concepts, machine learning techniques, computer vision, conversational AI and responsible AI practices. Through research, investigation and practical activities, students will explore how organisations use AI technologies to analyse data, automate processes and create intelligent solutions. The qualification is designed for individuals wishing to develop specialist digital skills and prepare for further study or employment in the rapidly growing field of Artificial Intelligence.

: Applicants should normally possess a Level 3 qualification in Information Technology, Computing, Software Development, Data Analytics or a related discipline. Applicants with relevant industry experience may also be considered.
: Assessment is completed through a combination of coursework, practical assignments, research activities and the development of a portfolio of evidence. Learners will demonstrate their understanding of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning through written work, practical investigations and project-based activities.

Assessment is continuous throughout the programme, allowing learners to build evidence of their skills and knowledge as they progress. There is no traditional final examination. Instead, learners will complete a range of assessment tasks designed to demonstrate achievement of the learning outcomes.

The qualification is graded on a Pass/Fail basis.
