Overview

An Intermediate Guide to Working in a Recording Studio

This course is aimed at musicians and music creators who are interested in understanding how a professional recording studio works. Students will explore the the key equipment used in todays recording studios, plan and make a professional multitrack studio recording. This recording will be mixed and mastered.

Applicants should be experienced practicing musicians or producers. This course requires a good understanding of music to enable effective use of the studio facilities.
This course is a suitable support for A-Level and GCSE Music students and is a progression from Recording Studio 101.
Applicants must be aged 16 or above.

Students will explore the key equipment used in todays recording studios and learn how to plan and make a professional multitrack studio recording.

Students will be assessed via coursework.

On successful completion of this course, students may wish to progress to the following courses:

Level 3 UAL Extended Diploma in Music Performance and Production (full-time)
Level 5 Foundation Degree in Creative Music and Audio Production (full-time)
Level 6 Top-Up Degree in Creative Music and Audio Production (part-time)

After completing the Creative Arts and Digital Technologies (Recording Studio 301) Level 3 Award, individuals can pursue various job roles within the creative arts and digital technologies industry. Some potential job roles include:

Audio Engineer
Music Producer
Sound Designer
Studio Technician
