Overview

This qualification is ideal for students wishing to specialise in the maintenance, repair and fault diagnostics of vehicle systems. Diagnostic knowledge is established through classroom and workshop based training and practice covering engine systems, chassis systems, transmissions and auxiliary electrical systems. This knowledge and the associated skills are developed in the application and use of a range of modern test equipment.

This qualification will demonstrate to an employer that you have gained the right knowledge and experience to help them in their business and encourage them to invest in you and your career. It provides vocationally related knowledge and skills which will improve employability within these vocations. Successful completion of units or the full award can contribute to the achievement of a VCQ when employed.

The Level 3 Diploma Apprenticeship in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Principles combines practical training with theoretical study to provide a comprehensive educational experience. Apprentices will work under the guidance of experienced technicians and industry professionals, gaining hands-on experience in real-world scenarios and utilising industry-standard tools and equipment. They will learn how to perform diagnostic tests, interpret technical manuals, repair and replace faulty components, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
