Overview

This qualification, accredited by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), is perfect for participants who work in or aspire to work in roles developing and managing people. It is a comprehensive programme designed to equip individuals with the knowledge, skills, and techniques required to effectively manage and lead teams in a professional setting. This course offers a deep exploration of people management strategies, employee development, and the critical aspects of fostering a positive work environment.

Throughout the course, participants will gain a thorough understanding of the principles and theories of people management. They will learn how to effectively recruit, select, and onboard new employees, as well as develop strategies for employee retention and talent management. Participants will explore techniques for building high-performing teams, fostering employee engagement, and creating a positive organisational culture.

On completion of this course participants will have:

Built on their existing knowledge and specialise in people management.
Increases their knowledge in employment relationship management, talent management and performance reward.
Taken the next step to a more senior people profession role.

The over-riding consideration in admitting applicants to this course, is evidence that the learner is likely to be able to complete the course satisfactorily.

Attendance at Individual or Group Pre-Entry Advice Sessions (IPEAS and GPEAS) may be required. These interviews may take place either on campus, via telephone or video call (Microsoft teams) and will play an important role in place allocation.

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age on or before 1st July 2024.
Applicants must have completed the Level 3 CIPD qualification and be currently employed in a people management role.
Applicants who do not meet the criteria outlined above but who are working in a HR role for at least 9 months and have a Level 4 or higher qualification in a business/HR related area will be considered through the APL process).

Please note that if APL is granted, a letter of employer endorsement will be required.

You will be assessed on a regular basis throughout the programme using a range of appropriate assessment methods, such as written and practical assignments, projects, case studies and presentations.

Where the exam/awarding body fee is listed as TBC in the full fee breakdown, the information has not yet been released by our partner awarding bodies for 24/25. This fee will be updated as soon as it becomes available.

CIPD Student Membership Fees: To complete the course and benefit for the CIPD professional and practical resources, you will be required to join the CIPD as a student member. Student members pay a special subsidised joining fee, which is currently £187 for new members. This is an additional cost and not included in the SRC course fees. The Level 5 Associate Diploma in People Management provides the knowledge towards Associate Professional Membership of CIPD. Learners may also progress to other higher education study or CIPD qualifications at Level 7.

Upon successful completion of the People Management Level 5 Associate Diploma, participants will be equipped with the necessary skills to take on leadership and management roles in various organisations and industries. They will be prepared to lead teams, manage employee performance, and contribute to the overall success of the organisation. Graduates may find employment opportunities as human resource managers, team leaders, department heads, or progress to higher-level management positions.
