Class Act for Southern Regional College A-Level Students

Students at Southern Regional College (SRC) are celebrating another year of excellent A-Level results, continuing the College's strong record of academic achievement.

As thousands of students across Northern Ireland received their results today, SRC students achieved an impressive overall pass rate of 96.6%, reflecting their hard work, commitment and determination throughout the academic year.

A number of subjects achieved an outstanding 100% pass rate, including Biology, English Literature and Religious Studies, demonstrating the high quality of teaching and learning across the College's A-Level provision.

Among those celebrating their success was:

• Shea Edgar from Portadown, who achieved a B in English Literature and hopes to study English and History at Queen’s University Belfast.
• Antonia Peles also from Portadown, who achieved a B grade in Biology and is hoping to return to education.
• Grace Wills from Banbridge, who achieved a B in Government & Politics and Religious Studies and a C in Biology. She is planning on studying Politics at Queen’s University Belfast.
• Bethany Johnston from Dollingstown, who achieved an A in Geography a B in English Literature and a C in Biology. Bethany will now progress to Queens University Belfast to study English.
• Mark Murphy, a retired GP from Warrenpoint who returned to education and achieved a B in History. He is now thinking about his next steps and is considering a History or Art Degree.
• Chloe Bruce from Armagh, who achieved an A in Geography and a B in English Literature and Psychology. She is hoping to study a BEd in Primary Education at Stranmillis University College.
• Also celebrating her achievements is Jessica Livingstone from Armagh who achieved Distinction, Distinction, Merit. Having completed a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Applied Science, Jessica hopes to begin a Higher-Level Apprenticeship in Bioscience.
  Academic success at SRC extends beyond traditional A-Levels with many students achieving 3 BTEC Distinction Stars (D*D*D*), equivalent to three A* grades at A-level.  

Based at the College's Armagh campus, SRC's A-Level Academy offers students the opportunity to study a broad range of 13 AS and A2 subjects. The curriculum includes STEM subjects such as Mathematics, Biology and Chemistry, alongside popular choices including Government and Politics, Nutrition and Food Science, Sociology and Psychology, providing students with a strong basis for higher education, apprenticeships and future careers
