Overview

This unit will enable learners to understand and explore the basic principles of 3D Building Information Modelling (BIM) using Autodesk Revit software. Revit is a powerful Building Information Modelling tool that is widely used in architecture, engineering, and construction industries.

Learners must:

Have an understanding and appreciation of the construction sector, including construction techniques CAD or 3D modelling experience is preferred
Be able to interpret construction information
Be at least 18 years of age to undertake this qualification

Modules covered include:

Developing an understanding of what is meant by BIM
Understanding how to use modelling interface
Creating a three dimensional (3D) model
Creating a two dimensional (2D) drafting view
Understanding sheet compilation and publication

Learners will be continuously be assessed throughout the course to determine their final grade.

On successful completion of this course, learners may wish to progress to Level 4 BIM or peruse other specialised courses to enhance their skills.
