Overview

This course falls under the South East Cross Border Alliance (SECBA). A project supported by PEACEPLUS, a programme managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB)

Learn how to make sense of data and turn information into insight. This beginner-friendly course introduces the core principles of data analytics — helping you understand how data is collected, organised, and used to support better decisions at work and in everyday life.

You’ll explore the data analysis process step by step, from identifying useful data to visualising results with charts and dashboards. Using simple, practical tools such as Excel, Google Sheets, or basic analytics software, you’ll gain hands-on experience working with real datasets.

By the end of the course, you’ll be able to interpret data confidently, spot trends, and communicate findings clearly — valuable skills for a wide range of roles and industries.

Applicants should have a working knowledge of using and manipulating data using Office-based systems.

Assessment for this programme will be through development of a portfolio.

After completing this course, learners will have the confidence and foundational knowledge to continue developing their data skills and may progress to further study in:

Intermediate or Advanced Data Analytics – exploring more complex analysis techniques and data tools.
Introduction to Programming or Python for Data – learning coding skills to automate and enhance analysis.
Business Intelligence and Reporting Tools – gaining experience with tools such as Power BI.
Introduction to Artificial Intelligence or Machine Learning – discovering how data analytics supports modern AI systems.
