Successful completion of the Access Diploma offers you the equivalence of five GCSEs (including Mathematics and English Language) at grade C and an A Level or Leaving Certificate tariff that will satisfy entry requirements to many Higher Education programmes. Employers may not accept this qualification as an equivalence to GCSEs and A levels.
Students must be over 19 years old and have been out of full time education for at least one year. Whilst there are no set entry requirements, applicants will be required to demonstrate the required level of literacy and numeracy prior to being offered a place on the course. Applicants without formal qualifications will be required to sit an initial assessment.

Full-time: 3.5 days per week for 1 year Part-time: 1 day or 2 evenings per week for 2 years
This route is suitable if you are interested in a career in science, engineering, health or teaching. This course equips learners with the necessary academic skills to succeed as undergraduates in most HE settings. Students may progress into HE courses including Nursing, Biomedical Sciences, Chemical Science and Engineering.
