Over 12 weeks, students dive deep into the world of Revit, learning to create stunning, detailed 3D models of buildings and structures. This course is designed for aspiring architects, engineers, and construction professionals who want to elevate their skills and stand out in a competitive industry.

This Level 4 will enable learners to understand and explore the basic principles of 3D Building Information Modelling (BIM) using Autodesk Revit software. Revit is a powerful Building Information Modelling tool that is widely used in architecture, engineering, and construction industries.

This certificate will broaden learners career opportunities in architecture, engineering, and construction industries. Potential employment job roles may include Building Information Modeler, Architectural Drafter, Construction Coordinator, BIM Coordinator, BIM Manager, Visualization Specialist and Revit Trainer or Educator.

This course is 90% funded by the Department for the Economy and 10% paid by the employer as part of the Skills Focus Programme. To qualify, your business or social enterprise must have less than 250 employees and you must be based in Northern Ireland and operate for profit.

Learners must:

Have an understanding and appreciation of the construction sector, including construction techniques CAD or 3D modelling experience is preferred
Be able to interpret construction information
Be at least 18 years of age to undertake this qualification

Modules covered include:

Developing an understanding of what is meant by BIM
Understanding how to use modelling interface
Creating a three dimensional (3D) model
Creating a two dimensional (2D) drafting view
Understanding sheet compilation and publication

Learners will be continuously be assessed throughout the course to determine their final grade. This will take the form of project work, assignments and in-class exercises.

On successful completion of this course, learners may wish to progress to Level 4 BIM courses or other specialised courses to enhance their skills. This may include courses in Parametric Design, Sustainable Building Design or Virtual Reality in Architecture.
