Overview

This course is 90% funded by the Department for the Economy and 10% paid by the employer as part of the Skills Focus Programme. To qualify, your business or social enterprise must have less than 250 employees and you must be based in Northern Ireland and operate for profit.

This qualification, accredited by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), is perfect for participants who work in or aspire to work in roles developing and managing people. It is designed to equip individuals with the knowledge, skills, and techniques required to effectively manage and lead teams in a professional setting. This course offers a deep exploration of people management strategies, employee development, and the critical aspects of fostering a positive work environment.

Throughout the course, participants will gain a thorough understanding of the principles and theories of people management. They will learn how to effectively recruit, select, and onboard new employees, as well as develop strategies for employee retention and talent management. Participants will explore techniques for building high-performing teams, fostering employee engagement, and creating a positive organisational culture.

On completion of this course participants will have:

  • Built on their existing knowledge and specialise in people management
  • Increased their knowledge in employment relationship management, talent management and performance reward
  • Taken the next step to a more senior people profession role

Participants who successfully complete this programme will have the abilities needed to assume management and leadership positions in a variety of organisations and sectors. This may include roles as managers of human resources, team leaders or heads of departments.
