On Tuesday 18 November, the Business Support & Innovation team hosted an inspiring health and social care event as part of Enterprise Week at the College. Titled ‘Beyond the Books: Real Stories from Health Care Professionals’, the event welcomed speakers from Banbridge Health & Care Centre who shared their experiences and career journeys with over 60 students.
Students heard from a wide range of professionals, including the facility coordinator, who provided an overview of the what the centre does and how it is run, the community midwives and public health nursing team, the integrated care team which includes occupational therapy, social work, district nursing and physiotherapy and the domiciliary care specialists.
This event offered students a comprehensive insight into the variety of roles within health and social care, along with real-life examples of career pathways available in the sector.
