Overview

This Computer Aided Design (CAD) course provides comprehensive training on Computer Aided Design software. It will help individuals enhance their career in manufacturing or engineering design, regardless of whether they are just starting out or are an experienced designer wanting to acquire specialist 2D design skills.

There are no formal entry requirements for this course.

Areas of study include:

Principles of the 2D drawing environment, in terms of hardware, software and physical surroundings
The typical composition of a CAD system

Learners will be assessed through practical tests and a written exam.

Students may wish to progress to study the Level 3 Award in CAD offered within SRC.

This course will enable those successful to explore various career roles within manufacturing or engineering design that utilise CAD skills. Some potential career options include:
