Students from St Joseph’s High School, St Mark’s High School and St. Paul’s High School from the Schools' Partnership Programme group, recently took a trip out to Café K in Newry, as part of their unit on the ASDAN Personal Progress course.

New Partnership Programme Sends SRC Students Transatlantic

Brian Doran, SRC Chief Executive, is pictured with Amy Donald and Faye Masson, Applied and Medical Science Foundation Degree students, who were selected to participate in the Erasmus + ICM project. The ICM (International Credit Mobility) Erasmus + project enabled Amy and Faye to spend three months studying abroad with Messiah College in Pennsylvania, USA.

SRC & Norbrook Recognised for Excellence in Innovation

Southern Regional College (SRC) in partnership with Norbrook Laboratories Ltd. have won the ‘Employer Innovation Award’ at the Apprentice of the Year awards, held in Belfast City Hall this week. The award presented by the Department for the Economy (DfE) recognises the pioneering work of both organisations in developing the first higher level apprenticeship in Applied Industrial Science in Northern Ireland.

Students Compete in 2018 Game Jam

SRC team, Unlimited Bombs, competed in the UKIE Student Game Jam 2018. This UK-wide competition is the biggest Game Jam organised by UKIE and has over 250 students taking part, spread across 50 teams competing to make the “best game” over a two day period.

The students, who are on the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Games, Animation & VFX Skills at the SRC Newry campus, received the gaming theme on Monday 22nd October and had 30 hours to create a fully functioning game. They were paired with mentor James Stone from Nerd Rage, an independent gaming studio based in the UK, to support them through the jam and provide advice and guidance.

SRC Promoting Social Inclusion and Diversity

Southern Regional College is involved in the Erasmus+ programme which aims to boost skills and employability, as well as modernising education, training and youth work. The college engages with European partners to implement exciting and innovative opportunities for both students and staff at the College.
