Site Visit to New SRC Armagh Campus by Department for the Economy Officials

Senior officials from the Department for the Economy completed a site visit to the new SRC Armagh Campus this week to view the construction progress of the new flagship campus. Construction is due to complete in spring next year and the new state-of-the-art campus will open its doors to new students in September 2020.

Healthcare Professionals Visit Armagh Health and Social Care Students

BTEC Level 3  Health and Social Care students and BTEC Level 4 HNC in Healthcare Practice students in Armagh Campus were recently visited by healthcare professionals from both the Southern and Belfast HSC Trusts. Jenny McCoy, a regional neuroscience staff nurse at the Royal Victoria Hospital; Rebecca McCoy, a nurse working on the Endoscopy ward at Daisy Hill Hospital and Janet Johnstone, a specialist social worker from the children learning disability team, all shared their individual progression pathways and professional experiences with our SRC students.

Shelbourne Motors Opens Doors to SRC Motor Vehicle Students

Southern Regional College students from Portadown and Newry campuses recently visited Shelbourne Motors dealerships in Portadown and Newry. The Light Vehicle Repair and Body/Paint Repair students observed how the dealerships are operated to the highest possible standards and were treated to a tour of the inner workings of a brand new state-of-the-art dealership recently opened in Newry. The £5m facility on the Armagh Road, which has 60 new employees, includes new Renault and Kia car showrooms, new car handover bays, lounge-style waiting area with café and a drive-thru service centre with a 28-bay service workshop.

Level 3 Games, Animation and VFX Students Welcome Abertay University

SRC students studying the Level 3 Games, Animation and VFX course at the Portadown and Newry campuses were delighted to welcome Rona Whittet, Student Recruitment Officer from Abertay University, who delivered a talk and provided an invaluable insight into the university’s undergraduate degrees and extra-curricular activities.

Music Students Visited by Local Musician & Songwriter

Our Music department kicked off their 2019-2020 SRC Music Artist Series this week by welcoming Belfast musician and songwriter, Peter J. McCauley to the College. The students got an incredible insight as Peter shared his personal experiences of working within the music industry.
